Pink film (ピンク映画 Pinku eiga or Pink eiga?) is a style of Japanese softcore pornographic theatrical film.
Films of this genre first appeared in the early 1960s, and dominated the Japanese domestic cinema from the mid-1960s through the mid-1980s.
In the 1960s, the pink films were largely the product of small, independent studios. In the 1970s, some of Japan's major studios, facing the loss of their theatrical audience, took over the pink film.
With their access to higher production-values and talent, some of these films became critical and popular successes.
Though the appearance of the AV (adult video) took away most of the pink film audience in the 1980s, films in this genre are still being produced.

Pinky Violence (o Violencia Rosa) es un subgénero cinematográfico de acción de origen japones. Este surgió a finales de los años 60 y tuvo su mayor fuerza en los años 70.
En estas películas hay unas normas y unas características fundamentales, entre ellas: siempre están protagonizadas por mujeres jóvenes, su trama tiene que ver con guerrillas callejeras, asesinatos o cualquier otro tema en el que se recurra a la violencia.
En este tipo de películas destacan films como Blossoming Night Dreams o Stray cat Rock , entre otras muchas. Una de las musas mas representantes en este movimiento es Reiko Oshida protagonista de la gran Okatsu The Fugitive.
Como anécdota mencionar que estas clases de películas tuvieron gan influencia en el cine de Quentin Tarantino, que homenajeó a la Pink Violence en Kill Bill Vol.1, calcando algunas escenas de estas películas y recurriendo a famosos actores de este género cinematográfico.
